Happy New Year 2009!!

I would like to wish all my readers,friends and family a very Happy New Year.May all your New Year wishes and resolutions comes true !! I,myself won't really make any New Year resolutions like losing weight or winning a lottery coz I know it's not going to happen. I just want to be myself ,spend more quality time with family and friends which I treasure very much.I'm glad I started this blog one and half years ago.With this blog,I've meet so many new friends and now some become good friends to me.Beside that this blog also bring me closer to my family and relatives back home in Malaysia .They are following my daily life here in US with passion especially my mom. I know my English is very poor,not up to expectation ,read here:( hate reading and study when I was young in school) even my older sister who is Malay medium criticizes me but the true to the matter is I'm not writing a thesis or book.I'm too lazy to think hard and improve my English now coz I'm too old or lazy to go to school for it.For me, it's doesn't really bother me ,how others people look at me as long as I'm sincere ,appreciated,honest and be truthful.And lastly I would like to said thank you to all my readers and friends who supports me and make this blog possible for me.Happy New Year 2009!! Mishu Learn How to Bake Chiffon Cake!!

I baked or experimental a new flavour chiffon cake on Christmas Eve. Of course ,whenever I cook or bake,Mishu will come to my aid or assistance.She really love to lend her little chubby hands to me whenever I needed or not! LOL! Well, usually if I'm too busy I will shoos her away from my kitchen but this time I let her hang around.I think she have culinary interest and passion like her mommy..Ok..let's see what this little rascal do here..

I prepared all the pans,tools and ingredients .Mishu push her dinner chair to the kitchen counter,get ready to work

She told me both her hands is tired,too heavy.!! OK....take a rest first!

Ok...continue to sieve the flour again!

She cheating,wanna to pour the whole flour into the whipping bowl!!...oh no!! I told her if she can't do it,then leave it for her mommy.

But this stubborn gal refused , insist she going to do it herself!!

Alright,while I beat the eggs white ( meringue )in my kitchen aid mixer,Mishu beat the eggs yolk by hand mixer

Look at her,she refuse to let me whisk the mixture

look like a pro! lol!...then the rest I have take over from her if not my chiffon won't come out as chiffon cake! I have to work quickly to combine both mixtures..While I turn on the oven temperature I told her to move away or get out from my kitchen but she refused.Her finger accidentally touch my hot Angel cake pan and crying like a baby for 2-3 hours! I put every medication you can name from my medicine cabinet on her finger but she still complaint! at last I rub some Colgate on her finger to cool it down.

The next day ,she come in again to help me to decorate the cake

This gal have never said die attitude. I thought once burn twice shy but....

after decorate and sprinkle the colorful sugar on the chiffon cake,she insist she want to sing Happy Birthday to mommy !! lol! Now ,asking for matches to lite the candle

after blowing the candle and sing Happy Birthday to mommy,she ask the cake to be cut! but she not a cake person. I cut a slice for her but she just eat the cream cheese icing not the cake! Mishu rarely eat cake or cookies.She love candy and ice cream only! I think it's fun to let her participate when I'm baking..These days she help mommy alots doing house work.She will clean up everybody empty plates and bring it to the sink.She will separate recycle cans and bring her own laundry bag to laundry room. Christmas Present

This year Mishu got a lots of gifts from Santa. Days before Christmas she was so excited when she found her gifts in one of the guest room closet.She took one of them and run to me ,told me "this is mine"!! open please Mama!.Well I told her it's belonged to somebody else. Then the day before Christmas while I was packing the gifts, suddenly she came it and saw the gifts again.*sigh*.Again I have to tell her,that toys belonged to her daddy.

Well,I planned for us to go to church on Christmas eve or morning but nobody wake me up in the morning.All these years I try to let's Mishu experience the mass in church on Christmas morning but so far no luck! I want Mishu to choose her own believe when she is 18 or 21 in age later.So far I bring her to temple with me whenever I have the chance but I also want to encourage her to attend mass in church to know the different between both religion.I believed I can't force others to believe in my own believed even though he/she is my spouse or children or vice verse.We should have the choice to choose ,right? Ok.let's see what we had for Mishu..

Daddy is the most exciting person,I guess .He quickly handle Mishu her present .Told her Santa know she is a good gal,that why she have all the red boxes under our Christmas tree!!

Ta-dah!! Barbie in red dress!! Daddy bought this set of Barbie when Mishu was just one month old baby but I told him ,he have to keep it for her later coz she have no idea what it's at the aged of one month! After keeping the set for almost 4 years ,her barbie came out on Christmas Day!

I figure this a a good investment for her to learn in term of education.I get this PC pal from Wal-mart on Black Friday.Today I was in Wal-mart and this PC pal selling $59.99.Luckily I got it at $30 on that special doorbuster deal! Mishu's grandma opening her gift from Mishu

Remember.. I rush to Macy's on "special hours" on Black Friday? I get this 9 west bag on 40% off original price and another $10 off after sale.Mishu's grandma give Mishu and both of us check as Christmas gift.I'm going to deposit the check into Mishu's bank account.We bought Mishu's grandma few pants and a nightgown as gifts.

We also get Bell from Beauty and Beast at Disney store at the mall when Mishu took her photo with Santa Claus.I get her Dora and Diego bag beans when she shop with me at supermarket when I see both items at sale, 50% off.

I thought it's PC,then it can connect to our PC monitor but it's not!! It's must connect to our TV not PC monitor.So far Mishu work with it but some of the programme is somehow high performance for her.

We forget to give Mishu,her best friends on Christmas Day ! That Mickey and Minnie Mouse!! I also get her Lilo from Disney store.Both new Mickey and Minnie Mouse from Wal-mart at $10 a piece. All of the toys we get her ,she still love her old and saggy Minnie Mouse,her security blanket! She doesn't care for all these plush toys...*sigh* She took away her old and dirty mouse with her ,not in the photo now!
As for us,we bought our own Christmas gifts before Christmas and when it's deliver to our door,we quickly open it, no chance to wait for Christmas , so no Christmas gifts for us under the tree. I order some pot and wok from Amazon.com .Look what I received from UPS!!

Look at the date! it's not even Christmas ,I already got my Christmas gifts from Amazon.com. I still didn't open the other wok yet but forget to take the photo.Nevermind! Luckily I ordered the pot on that day,if not today the price gone up double of what I had paid.As for Eliot he ordered himself an old fashion CD/Radio/AM/FM player and 10 pieces of CD from Amazon.com.All our gifts arrived days before Christmas.Wait,wait I still have a Christmas gift but it's in the shop.I can't decide what brand of laptop should I get.Eliot bring back Dell's extra discount code from his job to get an extra 11% off but I can't decide which brand should I get.Dell,Toshiba,HP or ..Any suggestion?

Christmas Eve Dinner and Merry Christmas!!

I guess people celebrate Christmas dinner on Christmas Day,right? But I celebrate our Christmas dinner on the eve's. Well ,don't really plan to cook big dinner for Christmas like the last Thanksgiving.I have all the foods in freezer and fridge except green vegetables.Suddenly at 4.00 pm I decided to cook our Christmas dinner .I quickly rush to our local farmer market to get some green vegetables .I like to shop green vegetables at our farmer market instead of supermarket because the price is much cheaper and better selection too.By 6.30 pm , I'm done with all the cooking ,our dinner is ready!! I ask Eliot to help me to set up our dinner table.Our formal dinning table is full of my mini photography studio and stuffs all over.

This time I choose a simple menu...Surf and Turf for Eliot,Mishu and MIL..
Stir-fry lobster and shrimp in ginger and scallion....Chinese style cooking!! hehehe!! nobody touch this dish except me!
Stir-fry mix vegetables with chicken...again another Chinese dish! hehehe! also nobody touch it except me!!

OK...next side dish is chessy mashed potatoes..of course,it's not Chinese dish again!!..this side dish is almost gone by the time our dinner is done! of course three of them(Mishu,Eliot and MIL) being American love this cheesy side dish but not me! actually I didn't touch this dish at all.

Grilled Porterhouse steak for Eliot

This porterhouse steak is for Mishu but she keep asking for cheesy mashed potatoes!! She keep saying she want Macaroni Cheese!! aiyooo!!! good stuff also dunno how to eat,just wanna the Mac-cheese!!

This time I just spend approximately under 2 hours in the kitchen prepared plus cooking all the foods that on our dinner table,not like last Thanksgiving.I recalled I spend 2 day prepared foods and the next whole day just for cooking!!

Look!! Mishu refused to eat her steak,toying with her food..I also served pork ribs soup too but none of them touch the soup!! poor soup...my hard loving soup!!

This gal only know apple juice....all she eat is Cheesy potatoes!! She refused to have shrimp or lobster!

Look !! she eating!!..you must wonder why I don't have porterhouse steak,right? but don't worried I prepared myself something better than porterhouse steak!! look below!!

my steam chicken drumstick with soy sauce and vinegar chili sauce !! ( Hainanese Chicken) This time I really steamed my Hainanese chicken with double boiler,taste sweeter and better! Yummy!! that is our Christmas Eve dinner!! Anyway,I plan for us to visit church for the mass at 11.00 pm after dinner but all of them went to bed already,left me alone.So I guess the church visit have to be postponed ,maybe we go tomorrow morning for the mass .Even I'm not a Christan,but I would love to attend the mass.

We still have plenty of leftover,I'm not going to cook tomorrow,inform Eliot and MIL in advance.I'm just going to relax and do some online shopping!! yooo---hoooo!!
