I always want my little jungle at my back yard ....clear of twig and demolish all the aging trees and oaks.My neighbour who just hired a Tree Company to clean and clear their little jungle at their backyard.It's approximately 1/2 acre to clear up and it's cost them $4K.Yes,4K is a lot of money,but of course this company is an insure and license company who will take the responsibility if anything happen.They come in with 3 big trucks and about 8 workers at 9 am and leave about 5 pm..One day work..They bring in bull dozer and grinding machine too.

And this is my backyard full of twigs,leaves and trees.We can't afford to spend $4 K to hire this company,so we just leave it as it..But unfortunately one of our oak tree fell over another neighbour fence.They wanna us to repair for them and by law it's our fault.We should cut down all the aging trees before accident happened..But my dear hubby keep saying tomorrow,tomorrow and the tomorrow never come!!.He even bought a new gas saw but used once so far.So he have to repair their fence but luckily it's not much damaged..He running up and down to hardware shop and their yard..
I found out that we have periwinkle at the way way back yard which I didn't know we have!!.I ordered this ground cover from gardening company online 2 years ago..Aiyo....now I'm beating my head!!..On top of that ,the one, I ordered...die on me liao!!.
Closer look..It's look green even in brutal cold weather..Sort of Evergreen plant.Overall was covered by oak leaves.
Periwinkle flower come out around spring to summer..It's very pretty with violet color..
Anyone need mushroom to cook for dinner??..hahaha!!..we have plenty of mushroom ,allover the ground and now on TREE!!.
We have a nice backyard property consider located in Long Island,but sadly all of them look like this.....little jungle
Next time, I know where to pick "this" when Christmas come..don't need to buy at the store!!..what is the name?? ..I forget....hmmmm

Yes,this is another pitiful sight too....*sigh*..What do you think if I hire workers myself to do the clean up job??.Save atleast $3K!!
Hubby cut this oak few months back when it's fell on neighbour fence..I think this cut oak will remain here for a long long time...but he said we can use it for our fire place....... if we have one!!
I still didn't pick up my blower,broom and rake to clean our patio yet...too cold and windy....acorn and leaves are all over .....*sigh*..looking already tired liao...
I don't mind raking the leaves if I have time..In a way I can use this excuse as an exercise to keep fit!! ahahaha!! ..I painted all our stockade fence but we short few pieces of fence to install all the way .........so our neighbour offer hubby his leftover unpaint stockade fence .You can see the one lay on the ground...I bought the garden bench at Biglots for $39.99 last summer..
Look at the leaves and acorn all over the ground...It's still wet from rain few days ago....so I have to wait for the leaves to dry a bit before start raking...yeah...alot of work if you own a house..If you don't wanna to rake leaves and clean up ,don't buy house with big yard,just buy condo!!!..House have alot of stuffs to do..This and that break down...aiyo...
This is our side front yard....Hubby help me to blow all the leaves by his electric blower in a big pile and I have to pack it in a leave bag for collection..Our collection is on every Thursday.
This is the back of the house to patio and above is a deck.I builded this pathway myself..You can see the stone out of shape and very unprofessional job that I have done!!.I can't affort a professional landscaper..

Wah, your backyard is really huge. If I have to clean that I sure mati :) :) It is good that I don't have a backyard because I am too lazy and I have yet to clean up all my dead tomato plants.

Nice tour of your backyard... You have a HUGE backyard consider in NY... My backyard is huge too but not alot of tree except one big oat.
On the side yards, we have more pine trees than anybody else...

Yes,it's cooler in summer bcoz we have plenty of tree over the sun but it's not cool to clean up:((lol!!

I like your backyard better..I hate pine tree,it have lices.My neighbour have a pine tree,and her daughters hairs full of lices,so they chop down the tree..I forbid Mishu playing near the pine tree

I told hubby I don't like our big yard escially clean up but he said more land is better ,our property worth better price.Aiyo...cannot be choosy la,,we bought from MIL.

Hahaha, really looks like a jungle. Oh woman, I would hate to clean that. I read that you mentioned got poison Ivy isn't it? I'm allergy to that so very scare of poison Ivy. Your backyard is very big even without the jungle!

Yes,in early summer,all posion ivy crawling out all over the ground which I hate!!.When Mishu was a BB,I cleared up poison ivy vein myself but now ,She follow me everywhere,so I don't dare to go in there at all.If Mishu touch posion ivy and she going to suffer big time! then I'm the one who is going to listen to her crying and bitching!!lol!!
