Discover Screw Me Again!!

I don't mean to bore you guys with my ranting...but I think if I didn't let my steam out I'm going to burst into big flame!!hahaha!!..My hubby always run away when I'm complaining or getting mad...Secondly,I want you guys to learn from the bad experience that I had gone through..
I received a letter from my Discover Credit Card 2 days ago,stating that my case is still under review!!...WTF!!!.
You see,my Discover card statement for Nov transaction came end of DEC 31th 2007..I definitely check every transaction we make in every statement or every card.I notice,why there is Late Payment Charge for $39.00 and $1.00 Finance Charge!!.Then I refer back to previous 2 month statement again.As fast as I can ,I quickly dig into my filing cabinet,looking for Discover file,pull out a statement.I look through my payment date and the amount which I had paid A WEEK before it's DUE.Luckily I have the payment slip from HSBC..I dunno when HSBC buyout Discover Credit Card company but the payment address is PAY to HSBC..that doesn't matter as long as I paid my bill on time,right?....I paid through HSBC branch last few time and have no problem.The reason why I paid through HSBC bank rather than mail in because I have the same problem when I mail in.They said they received my payment late!!..My foot!!We rarely use this card ,so I don't want to register online for payment method..Yeah...by phone payment there is $5.00 surcharge
I quickly call Discover Card customer service,asking why they charge me Late Fee and Finance Charge!!..They told me I have one transaction made on Nov and they didn't received any payment yet.I asked her to verify the amount of my transaction..That woman keep saying $15.00.."what $15.00,you keep referring"?.I see no $15.00 transaction in any of my statement!!.I told her I can only see $29.00 transaction.Oh!! She said that $15.00 is a minimum payment of $29.00 transaction from Amazon..OMG!! that woman is so dumb!!.How can she be the customer service rep,since she can't understand my problem and question??.She even ask me to file dispute with the credit card .I ask her "are you kidding me"..I have to file dispute with my own credit card??.I thought filing dispute is for 3rd party company not my own credit card who took my payment and I have ti file dispute with them!!.
So I request for her supervisor..She reluctant said,"I will handle you,you don't need my supervisor"..What??..No thank you,your supervisor please..She keep going and going... said what if her supervisor ask why I need to speak to her ..I said 'don't worried,I won't blacklist you"....just pass me your supervisor...So here come her supervisor..

I told her I make my payment a week before due date in HSBC brand.I have my payment slip with me now.But she told me their computer doesn't show that I make the payment.Ok...Then she ask me....what type of method I use to paid.I use hubby check.So she want me to give her the check number...OK..I quickly go online to hubby checking account but unfortunately that day every bank was updating end of year summary.Hubby bank was offline for hours..So she ask me to send her the clear check and the payment slip..In return she waived the $39.oo late fee but not $1.00 finance charge.She said until she received the payment she will consider waiving the finance charge.....I told her to make sure the late payment report doesn't go to my credit score or FICO score!.
Ok...that settle..the next day I download the cleared check and I notice the date that check was clear is one day before it's due by both bank.I send all the request documents by fax ASAP.But it's doesn't matter..Whenever,the date I make payment at the bank,it's consider the payment as that date on the time and date stamp.I lecture hubby left and right!!.I asked him thousand time do not use Discover Credit Card anymore..just use one card that CITI Card!!..he bought his toy in Amazon for $29.00 and now we have to pay late fee for $39.00!!.He said he forget to change his credit card numbers in his Amazon account..You know,right now all this online store would keep your credit card number in their file,so when you make any purchase ,you just need to click,no need to enter all the 16 digit number again.
That the reason,I was so furious and piss!!...dealing with this kind of shit!!..After so many weeks,they send me a letter stating ,"your case is under review,we will contact you once our investigation complete"..what the hell happening to this credit card company!!.First,they received my payment before it's due and second they still keep saying I didn't make the $29. payment until today.I call the automatic number to check my balance,the $29.00 is still there.No wonder Suzu Orman said every credit card company out there try every dirty trick to default you,so that you can pay higher them interest rate !!.I'm not going to pay for the mistake they make.I 'm going to that HSBC branch now.I had make my payment with them and now I wanna to clarity this matter ASAP..I have to settle this problem before I leave for my vacation...my hubby is hopeless dealing with this kind of matter and furthermore that card is in my name.Credit card company only talk to the Primary card holder not supplement card holder..
oh!!...I have a feeling something will come out bad....until I leave for my vacation ...oh!! geramnya..my blood is raising and my head is spinning...with long thing to do list..

If I am in your shoes, I will clear up the problem with them and then cut the credit card up and give it back to them. There are so many Credit Card out there and you don't have to use theirs. With all this problem that is why I limit myself to only 2 c.c and a debit card :) Hope you settle the problem soon before you go way for vacation.

Discover has been good to us though. No worry, they will waive the late fee after the investigation. You already got proof already so what are you worry about? Wait a few days, it should be resolved. It happen to us a few times too.

I had the same problem recently and it was my fault. I paid 5 days late and was ready to pay the $39 but my husband took over and got them to cancel the charge.

So, stick to your guns, Lesley. They need your business and listing as a card holder.

Hope this is the last of your stress before you leave for vacation.

Ah, I baca pun sudah geram... I now stick to one credit card and one debit... Too many credit card, mau pecah kepala bayar bill every month..

I think it will get resolved... Don't worry.

They got me too.Actually,I was once a loyal customer of Discover until the little encounter I had with them.The reason I went with them in the first place was to take advantage of the double cash back incentives.Of course it was all a hoax.Long story short,customer service was rude from the rep to management. I cussed a little in Hokkien,discontinued the service and shredded the card to pieces.Perhaps the manner was a little rash but it felt good.Hope you get this rectified before you fly out. The last thing before a vacation is any unnecessary aggravation.

Gert,I use Discover is bcoz of the point and cash back before we apply for Citicard which is better in term of rebate and saving for Mishu college fund..I didn't use it but I know if I close a CC,mine FIFO score is going down 10%.So I just leave it as it.This afternoon,I talk to HSBC manager,she told me to get her the cleared check again coz the one I download from online is not very clear.I'm going back there again tomorrow.

They already waived the late fee but the money $29..is still not clear..The reason is HSBC buy Discover Credit card company recently,and their management in kalam kabut..Even the manager I see today said,she have the same problem too.

Usually the will waived late fee for you once a year as a courtesy.
I talked to the branch manager,she even call in for me,but that customer person want to talk to me and ask me all the question again.I was so feed up and handle back the phone to the manager..I bring all my proof and it's infront of her.I don't wanna to go all over again and at the end she can't resolve my problem.."sai hei"...So the bank manager told me to get her a better copy of my clear check and she advise me not to pay at HSBC anymore....I'm so stress right now...Talking about stress and rant...yikes...my cell was SPAM and billed to me at $9.99 per SPAM..I talk about that later*sigh*
