Let me continue the second part of my tour, cruising back to upper west side..I used Bowery St coming out from Chinatown, then it's meet with 2nd Ave or 4th Ave split junction. But I choose to use 2nd Ave through East Village.Chinatown is located at lower east side of the city.It been awhile, I didn't visit East Village..Before we start our tour again, let's see what Mishu eating when we came home..
Mishu had porridge,100 Plus ,curry puff and now this kuih.....eeerrrh....I dunno what the name of this green and yellow kuih but have corn at the bottom.

After 2 bites of tasting...look at
Mishu face!!..she done!!..

Next !!..100 Plus again!!!..
Mishu need some 100 Plus energy too!!!
hahaha!!

Now I found out that my new Canon camera is quite good, clear and sharp. All these photos which I took while driving from inside my van.You hardy even notice my windscreen reflection, right?.Did you see Empire State Building again?.Yes,I'm using 2
nd Ave local street and heading toward East Village.

View from East Village...that long antenna is Empire State Building

Look at the right building. At the second and third floor are the famous Japanese grocery store in the city.I used to buy
edamame here, just $1.00 each pack. It's between St Mark Street and 2
nd Ave.This area are mostly concentrated of Japanese artist and student from NYU.So you can find a lot of Japanese restaurant around this area.Remember,Travel Channel??.Anthony
Bourdian in NY??.He visit this Japanese restaurant who serve mainly appetizers and sake until 4-5 am.That restaurant is next to grocery store which below is a book store.I miss East Village slow and easy life style.I understand lesbian like to hang out in East Village and gays like to hang out at West Village.

I make a left turn at 23st crosstown to west side. This view is crosstown at Park Ave South.

Going toward 8
th Ave.This is Chelsea. You can see the infamous Chelsea Hotel right on the left brick building.

Penn Station back to back to back with Madison Square Garden. If I took train from Long Island, this is my last stop. And from here, I have to take subway to where ever I want in the city. You can see yellow cab line up to drop and pick up
passager.

This is Madison Square Garden on the other side.In short we called MSG.Where
Knick's(basketball team) Home games usually held here..Or any superstar can held their concert here. The first and only time I was inside ,
hmmmm..that was Jacky
Cheung concert at mid 90's.Yeah...that was very long time ago.Jacky
Cheung was the first Asian artist who held the concert in MSG....I believe...

Grand Post Office in NYC at 34
th and 8
th..I was there few time,it's really old and
ulter super big.Renovation and update was perform all the time. This building is on of NYC landmark.

I want to show you something here.Look carefully at the left side lamp post where the white truck located.Above that lamp post is sky cam or spy cam..So be careful when you want to do something bad and evil, sky cam is everywhere in the city!!..hahaha!!..The city is watching every move you make!!.

8
th Ave and 33st ..

oh!!..Gray Papaya is the famous NY Hot dog. It's good, cheap and fast.Remember the Travel Channel,Andrew the Bizarre Food,he visit here too.I remember in mid 90's,2 hot dog for $1.00 and now it's $1.00 each..They have another store at Columbus Circle.

This is New York
Times's headquarter.I guess this whole building belonged to
NYT as well.

Famous 42 st Main Bus Terminal. This terminal is for buses from all over the country.

Cool and weird shape new Building at 42st and 8 Ave..I dunno what the name...I think I lost touch with the city now..

The view below...across the street from grand bus terminal

Broadway Show Theater all over this area..

Now I'm travelling across Central Park North....Hubby called said his mom still in operation room, the surgery was delay. Her surgery appointment was at 8.30 am but delayed until 11.30 am..So we take a ride to upper east side across Central Park and park there to take some cat nap before the hospital beep hubby..I didn't sleep for the last 20 hours, exhausted and tired....I'm a night owl, so when the time I'm going to bed, hubby wake up and get ready to go to the city....aiyo....deprived of sleep...

Central Park North view.

Another Central Park North view

Look at what I bought!!.."Tau
Fu Fah"...translated to......bean curd flower?.

Yes,it's come with 3 sugar syrup for $2.00 a quart. This stall made the best "
TFF"...very smooth and solid.
Yauh Tiu(
cruller) and...eeerrh...I dunno what it's called the other one....I just point to that piece when I'm ordering it..Bought it in Big Wong(
Tai Wong),one of the famous roasted meat and breakfast place. Also bought whole BBQ spare rib for hubby. They make all the Chinese
Yauh Tiu pastry fresh in store daily.

Bought these in Chinese bakery..Roast pork bun,red bean bun and scallion and shredded pork bun.

I bought this simple
nasi lemak for $2.00 and another pack of economy rice for $3.20 in Indonesia and Malaysia restaurant at
Pell St..Sorry,didn't have the chance to take the photo of my economy rice.I eat the economy rice with
Mishu in the van while waiting for hubby when he go back to hospital. The economy rice is really good, have spicy dried shrimp (
sambal hei bee),steamed egg pork with radish and
rendang chicken.It's come with a barley soup,but I didn't take it.
Mishu eat almost all of this pack
nasi lemak the next day.

I bought combination (squid, pork and beef) porridge from
Tai Wong(Big Wong).I request the boss to omit the beef.....sorry no beef for me..In Cantonese dialect combination porridge called
"
teng chai chok" ..I dunno how the name come out this way..I thought it's sound like boat porridge..
hahaha!! I realised any porridge from restaurant always mixed with corn starch..The reason, maybe it's look pretty and solid .Big Wong sell few different type of porridge....Thousand year old egg, fish, pork, beef and etc..

Bought these
kuih muih at Malaysia restaurant..
Mishu love the curry puff....not really spicy but full of curry powder flavor..I'm looking for the spiral skin curry puff but gone!!

At last I found it...... candle nut!!!..Yes,I found it at Asian mart in Mulberry St..

Look at this!! It's preserved Kumquat??..Chinese New Year is coming...tong...tong..tong
chang!!..Made in Malaysia..

I also found Mr Ho
Yan Hor......good for us when we are not feeling well.......just brew with hot water...add in some honey...there you go....with 2-3 days, you're back to normal..

Yes...it's
Petai!!..or
Sator Bean for
Thai's....I'm going to cook
sambal petai!!.

This chopped peanut is convenience and fresh.I guess,I can use it for making cake ,cookies or
rojak.Save work ,time and the price is really not bad, right?

I never see this brand of "
BKT" before...hmmm...Maybe it's new in the market.Let me cook and enjoy it first before I can give my review for this product.

This is all the stuff I bought from Asian market..some snack too...yummy!!...Mishu is helping me chowing down some of the satay bean curd now!!
hahaha!!...
After eating our porridge, nasi lemak, kuih muih, bbq rib and "TFF" all of us go to bed at 8.00 pm..It's really been a long day for us...especially I didn't sleep for the last 30 hours...I'm tired, exhausted, fatigued, weary and cranky!!..At least ,I get some shopping done beside sending Mil to hospital..Kill 2 birds with a stone....right?..Before we heading home,we have to stop in Queens to pick up something from my friend...Stay tune....be right back!!

Look at all these tall buildings, everywhere one turns, just cannot escape it, would be an experience when I visit NYC. They really serve M'sian food and sell a lot of M'sian snacks! Love it!
Hi Beachlover, wow! Love your pics. Well taken. But driving and taking pictures? Gosh, if I was in your car, I wouldn't need nail clippers for my fingernails, ha ha.
I love new York. Been there several times.
My wife and i was in New york one year before Sept 11. And there I was sitting at the foot of the Twin Towers having a cigarette with a few friends while the other friends went up the tower. It was 9.45am.
I still shudder thinking IF we had gone the following year! You won't be seeing my callsign here.
Anyway, you sure have a cute daughter.
And 'Hor Yan hor'? My wife swears by it. Anytime one of us coughs, she pops one packet out faster than Incik Clint Eastwood can say "go ahead my my day"! Ha ha.
You keep well, Beachlover. Drop in for coffee if free. Best regards, UL.

Aiyo...I thinking if you lived close to NYC,you can't afford shopping hari hari la,or you mau lari from NYC ASAP after buying this and that especially after visit Madison and Lexington Ave!!hahaha!!..Oh you wanna pix of LV Boutique??..Hiya...I didn't take the one in Soho..actually it's behind the block of 'MANGO' store..nowdays mostly single and new designer are located in Soho.Lex and Madison Ave store rent super expensive and fully rented. So this newcomer seek Soho for more hip, chic and urban style store there. The Soho LV boutique do sell man product too but not as big as the one at 5th Ave superstore LV..Next time,I tangkap gambar kat LV,Prada,CK,Rolex,Bally and etc...ok??

Waah, all those goodies! Eh, was the petai in the frozen or refrigerator section? I bought a bottle of pickled petai recently, can also lah, but I wished it wasn't pickled though.
Puteri:
The petai was frozen and it's really fresh amd green..Due to seating in my van for many hours, the ice melted,so you see clear liquid instead..I dunno how the pickle taste but I guess it must taste vinegared, sedikit lain kan?.
Wah! Big shopping at Chinatown, shiok sia! :o) Where did you get the nasi lemak? Was it at Sanur? How about the tau fu fah? Was it from the uncle on the bicycle near the subway? :o)
