S.O.S Live Earth

The Live Earth concerts on 7/7/07 were the first step towards a global solution to the climate crisis. Our goal is to turn commitment into action--with help from our partners at Avaaz.org, a global online advocacy group at the forefront of the climate change movement. (Avaaz means "voice" in many languages.) Starting soon, you'll be hearing from Avaaz directly. But we wanted to alert you right away to the first opportunity to have an impact: this Thursday, Avaaz will deliver a global petition calling for action on climate change to the new Foreign Minister of Britain. Click this link to add your name to the petition now. Live Earth was created to launch a multi-year campaign, led by organizations around the world, to end the climate crisis. The concerts awakened millions of people to the need for change--with concerts on every continent, and "Friends of Live Earth" events and house parties in almost every country on earth. Turning this awareness into reality will require the efforts of individuals, corporations, and governments everywhere. That's why we're working with partner groups like Avaaz.org--to make sure the message is heard. Avaaz.org is a member-driven organization based on a simple idea: that the views and values of the world's people should inform global decision-making.
Since it launched this January, its members have become a powerful voice on issues like poverty and human rights--and, most of all, climate change, with nearly 400,000 members from more than 180 countries signing its petition to world leaders. This massive petition helped push climate change to the top of the G8 agenda, and has been hand-delivered to top officials from Germany to Brazil (making international headlines every step of the way). This Thursday, the petition will be delivered to the staff of the new Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom. The brand-new British government has already shown a willingness to listen to the world's people; in fact, the Foreign Minister's first speech was co-hosted by Avaaz last Thursday. This is the perfect moment to deliver a petition that can focus the new British government on the top issue facing humanity--the climate crisis. To sign the petition--or forward it to friends and family--just click here. This summer and fall, Avaaz will organize an unprecedented and vitally important global campaign for a new global treaty on climate change pollution. You'll hear from them a few times per month, always with specific actions you can take to change the world. What we've done together already is amazing. And it's just the beginning. Look out for emails from Avaaz.org soon!.

The Alliance for Climate Protection and Live Earth Live Earth was just the beginning. Live Earth brought together millions of people to start a movement to solve the climate crisis, and we couldn't have done it without the help of our non-profit partner the Alliance for Climate Protection. The newly-created Alliance will start a campaign to convince people from all walks of life about the importance, urgency and solvability of the climate crisis. They are working globally to advance the principles outlined in Live Earth's 7-Point Pledge. Keep an eye out for an email from the Alliance for Climate Protection and check out their website at http://www.joinliveearth.org/page/m/asLWA8SEPUp/i0hSyf for climate solutions, heroes, and inspiration. Click one of the many images on http://www.joinliveearth.org/page/m/asLWA8SEPUp/i0hSyf to get more information on what you can do to solve the climate crisis. Let's all continue to make a difference! I have given birth to a Terror !!!

Look at what Mishu done to my wall downstairs in the den and on the fire place!!..Mishu know very well, that she is forbid to write or scratch our wall with her crayons or pen.I rarely buy her crayons, knowing that she don't listen to our warning.Sometimes, she will use her pencil to draw on the wall, upstairs living room and hall wall.Elliot will scold her because it's very hard to remove crayon on the wall especially we have wall panel and sheet rock material base. We have to use Scotch Brite with Ajax to removed her crayon out from the wall.
Mishu been keep me a wake until wee hours for these couple of days.So when she wake up in the morning, she will wandering around the room.I will just take my nap and lay on the couch in the den.I have no idea she took a permanent marker pen from computer desk and draw her art on the fireplace and panel wall.Until Elliot come home from work. When he go downstairs to the den, where is our computer located,he yell at us so loud. 'What the hell is happening here??'..Lesley,did you see what your daughter did??.Then he running up stairs again.Mishu know what is coming...She run away and cry.She cry first before she even get scold..Well,it's my fault too, because I should watch her instead of napping.
I guess I have to repaint the wall again.I just painted last year.Elliot keep saying I given birth to a wrecker machine or a terror..She will destroy anything in the house. Her toys and books won't last for a day...I think we spoiled her because she is the only child..we didn't really punish her.She was a colicky baby when she was born. She know that we love her and take her chance with us.I don't think any child out there is worst than her. Any one??

which one is better looking?

Last year we went to www.ikea.com/ in Long Island to get a kitchen table set which we can eat in the kitchen instead of the dining room.Ikea's send me a catalog which I subscripts every season. There is few more items I want to get as well.Usually I will shop there for few hours by myself. But with Elliot tagging along I better hurry up.I was walking brisking while pushing my shopping cart with Mishu toward lightning department, I saw a simple design hanging lamp .This hanging lamp with a reasonable price tag only $19.95 caught my eyes.I quickly grab it and put it into my cart.I show it to Elliot. He like the simplicity of the design and price as well.So we bought this hanging lamp and hang it at our front door entrance for months. So far so good..It's easy to clean too..Made from glasses.
I love this 99 cents store in Chinatown , Manhattan.2 months ago,I shopped there again.Usually they not only sell 99 cents stuffs but other stuff/junk as well, which is about $2-5.I saw this Oriental design lantern made from paper .It's not bad looking with 12x10 diameter rounded shape. The price is only $2.00.So,I bought 2 pcs with different calligraphy's design. I'm thinking ,buy it and sell in my EBay's site which I just started not long ago.Well, since the diameter is too big for packaging even though the paper lantern is very light, I just let it sit on the shelf to gather dust.Sometimes,I will take effort to do things if I wish ASAP,while some other days,I will just be lazy and doing nothing. While I'm cleaning my guest room downstairs,I saw my junks still sitting on top of the shelf with G.I.Joe's.Suddenly,I'm thinking, why don't I hang it up in my front entrance door since the whole part of my entrance have Oriental and Chinese design ornaments?..So here it's goes.....easy ,elegant and inexpensive lantern. After,Elliot hanging the lantern up,he suggest to me,why don't you sell this in eBay??.I guess he been sleeping all the while..
Here it's goes...not too bad,right??..Which one is better looking?.Glass lamp from Ikea or Oriental paper lantern?..both of them doesn't come with bulb but no problem ...just get a CFL bulb for it..

what wrong with my grapes?

I'm wondering what wrong with my grapes tree?.My grapes are small and some are even black in color before ripe yet. Most of them keep falling all over the ground,so pathetic.Early in this January when the weather was freezing cold,I had the tree pruned and removed all the surrounding weeds as well. But I forget to fertilize the ground near the tree stumps. My FIL advised me to so do,said it's might help the grapes to grow bigger and healthy.A friend told me that ,if I pruned the trees ,the grapes won't taste sweet for 2 or 3 years.I don't know much about gardening especially grapes.Maybe my thumbs are not "green" enough..In my whole life, I live in city and have no idea how to grow, manage plants or work in a garden.I have learn quite a lots these few years since I moved to Long Island .
Actually ,we inherited our grapes trees when we bought our home from my MIL.I guess the age of our grapes trees is at least 25 years old. It's a very mature tree but the fruit is so skinny and small like peas because during the last 15 years nobody bother to take care it.My 'FIL' is the person who planted all these grapes tree from seeds 30 years back then.He left after they divorced 20 years ago and my MIL doesn't bother with all the garden work.Weeds and trees grown all over the back yard.Poison ivy and poison oak climbing up up high on the oak trees. It's take me a hell lots of time to clear and removed that bitchy plants. Have to see few times doctor for treatments to heal the itchiness and rashes. It's a real pain..

My mom told me that grapes tree will live until 100 year old.Well,I will try again this winter to fertilize and prune it .Maybe I should google's grape tree doctor, ask for his advise.Or maybe look for"Plant grapes tree for Dummies".I want to preserve the tree because to grow a grape tree it so hard, take years for it to mature but to destroy it just take a second.Hope I can save the trees..Any ideas,anybody?..

Stop Global Warming Take Action Green House Network Greenhousenet.org

my kitchen fan

I personally pledged to take any action to combat climate changed as well as to save some money our self.Global warming is so serious at this level now.We have severe weather changed from all over the world. For example,Hurricane Katrina and Rita is worst disaster happened. We can see what had happened around us now. There been talk about climate changed effect since 70's but nobody bring any awareness to us.I ,myself didn't well inform until Al Gore and the rest of environmentalist to bring this issue on TV and Internets. So far from the moment I understand how serious about climate changed,I have try my very best to do my part to reduce Co2 emission released .Beside that I think our government should give some incentive such as tax cut to those who use less energy and Co2 emission and carbon reset.
Today I separated paper waste and cans for tomorrow recycle collection. Every alternate week,on Wednesday our town recycle truck will come to collect either aluminium, cans and plastic, following by paper or newspaper the next week.I keep buying CFL's light when I shop in Walmart.I think Walmart have the lower price compare with other stores. So whenever ,my bulb blow out,I will replace it with CFL..In another words ,I will save my electricity bill in long run even though CFL light is 4-5 times more expensive than regular bulb.

Secondly,we shut off any light in the room if nobody there. There same goes with our water.I cut down using hot water for laundry.I have stop giving Mishu her bubble bath due to several reason. Her health and water usage excessive.Elliot doesn't really care about recycle but he will make sure the light is off when he left the room.He will switch computer to stand by as I suggested when he done with it.Now days,he hardly switch on the AC unless it's really humid and hot at night..Hope our summer electricity bill don't as high as last year..

Walt Disney World

At last I'm able to repair the damaged I do over my Zoom browser Image in my computer.I accidentally copy and paste one file to another file.At the end ,I corrupted the whole files of my digital camera.Stupid me!!.I'm a loser in these computer stuffs.I called Danny who was a student in Brooklyn College in Computer Science. He suggest to me that I should restore my computer.Well, that is a good idea after I frozen my hard drive..There is no way for my to go to Control Panel to delete the programme again.I try and try.I shut up and restart again. At last I get it.Thanks to Danny!!..Danny ,your Heineken is on me!.
Mishu love Mickey Mouse and his friends so much.So Elliot want to pleased her...We was in Orlando,Fl beginning of this month for vacation .Elliot want to bring Mishu to the most happy place in the world..Disney World!!!He said when she is so happy and smiling at her favourite cartoons,he feel nothing is matter anymore.I argue that she won't remember she been there after few months home. And it's just waste of money. But at last I gave in and start planning for the itinerary. We stay in ESA at International Drive for 6 days.http://www.extendedstayhotels.com/hotels/orlando-convention-center-westwood-blvd-esa.html.I bought this hotel thru www.Priceline.com with a very reasonable price. It's just 15 miles away from Disney's compound.Beside that International Drive have lot of shopping and eatery.I rent a car with upgraded status to standard size thru the same site.I love Priceline auction site. With today Internet access worldwide,we can do almost everything online without stepping out of our home.Beside hotel, car rental,I bought our airline ticket and theme park tickets online as well from various vendors.Luckily ,I bought our flight ticket one month early with SWA.As predicated,When you buy your ticket 2 weeks in advance, you can get a very low price and availability seat.I managed to buy "Internet" price which is only $55 plus tax each way. That not bad for us to depart from Long Island instead of driving to La Guardia or JFK.The airport http://www.macarthurairport.com/ which is a small airport just located 10 minutes from our home .Since Mac Arthur Airport is under our town component district,I apply for long term parking permit which is only available for our town resident .The condition is that person who resides in the Town or who holds a deed in his or her name to real property in the Town .It's just cost me $35 for 2 years permit.Viola!!..That is a bonus saving for us.If we don't have resident permit,we have to pay $11 plus tax for 24 hours.. This is the first time Mishu is going to board on a plane.I worried that she will not used to sound and vibration of the plane. But to my surprise,Mishu handle very well .I let her seat next to the window ,so she can see the cloud and scenery for the first time .

We visited MGM,Magic Kingdom,Animal Kingdom,Sea World and Daytona Beach.I bought a 6 days non- expired date tickets for both of us because of the currant price is not much different without 14 days expired. And since Mishu is just under 3 year old,she don't have to get her own tickets.Anyway,we just brought her BC with us in case the park attendance don't believe that her size is bigger compare with her age. The weather is very hot and humid. We found a Superstore Walmart's and bought some groceries after we check in the hotel.Since our hotel is suite style come with kitchenette,I can do some minor cooking...boiling eggs and instant noodles. We went to Daytona Beach the day before we heading home.Daytona Beach known as one of the beautiful beach in Florida.Elliot rented an umbrella with a set of lounge chair for us.I think if he didn't rent the umbrella,he won't stay more than 10 minutes on the beach.Burn like BBQ.The sand is very fine and compact. When I'm walking on the sand,I feel like I'm walking on a concrete.Mishu enjoy the wave very much.I apply tons of sunscreen on her body, afraid she will get burn.Luckily,we all managed to escape the sunburn.
Mishu was so trilled to see her favourite cartoon in live. She hug and kiss her favourite cartoon characters especially Mickey.Overall ,our trip is good and smooth.Maybe we will go back there in another 2 years time.By that time Mishu will appreciated and understand better. This time even with my careful planning,we didn't managed to see everything in every park because we let Mishu take her nap in between. It's understandable because she still a toddlers and baby.

what make me to be a blogger??

What make me want to be a blogger???..As I always said,I'm a lousy writer. What provoked me and drive me start to pen down my thought here?.Firstly ,the news that Malaysian prominent blogger,Harvard-educated Nathaniel Tan was detained on July 13 under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) for posting information on the Internet the government considered 'sensitive'. His arrest was a wake up call for us who is truly Malaysian at heart, who want government change in this coming election.A government who is afraid that We Are The People who know the truth.http://www.mybuddies.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5392&PN=1
Days ago another case , with the high-level Umno police report against Raja Petra Raja Kamaruddin, the webmaster of the popular political website, Malaysia Today http://malaysia-today.net/blog2006/index.php?itemid=6712.. where is the freedom of speech??.I would like to voice up my opinion and comment on behalf of the people who don't have voice and to express my own frustration .

Secondly,a blogger and a member from mybuddies.net http://cathlooi.blogspot.com/ send me her blog link. After ,a quick glance her topic and I'm wondering myself "maybe I should have a blog my elf after all".Her blog concept trigger my mind at this moment.Raymond See is another person who inspired me with his encouragement words."You write to express yourself not to impress others"...here I come...my friends...so I started to register and in hurry pen down my first thought..Actually,I already register a blog last years, thinking to create a food blog after reading all the wonderful recipes out there..but due to my laziness and lack of encouragement,I didn't even make the effort to write a word....xie-xie!!..kiam-sieh!!..terimakasih!!,doh che!! and thank you!!! to all of you who support and inspired me!!..

potty training?

Feeling lost ..Mishu is at 32 months now.She refused to go for potty in bathroom. She understand very well she have to pee and pooh in the toilet.I bought her special seat in Walmart last year.I keep telling her that 'don't pee and pooh in your pantie'.Every morning ,I will stripe her old diaper from last night and let her wear her pantie during the day time.I show her her seat in bathroom.I stage her small stool in front of WC,easily for her to climb on her seat. She doesn't care at all.She just pee and pooh in her pantie few times a day.I even bribe her, tell her if she go to do her potty in bathroom, mommy will give her candy.Jane told me that I should potty train her around 9 months, now it's too late.Mishu will said "yes " to me,when i show her ,her seat on top of our regular toilet seat.I think she purposely refused to go to her potty in bathroom. If i insist she go ,she will go to seat on her potty for 5-10 mins in the bathroom but nothing come out from her.She just do me a favor because I told her to seat there.Later she told me that she done her bussiness and run out from the bathroom.

My mom even lecture me for letting her still in diaper at this age.Mom said no kids in Malaysia still in diaper after 2 year old.I saw Lian See online ,so I 'im" her.We chit-chat for awhile, she told me that Charlene only wear diaper at night to bed.Imagine,Charlene is 3 months younger than Mishu and she able to off her diaper .Why not Mishu??hmmm....that is a good question...I even smack her ass lightly after she pooh 3 times in a day in her pantie.Elliot quickly grab Mishu when she cry out loud..He told me not to smack her.He said when I smack her,he feel the pain in his heart when she cry out.wow!!!..He even said she still a baby.Well, since he said all that"what else can I do'??.Am I a bad mother??.After all I try my very best in the book to potty train her but still fail..Eventually ,Mishu go back on her diaper..day and night...just going to let her wear it until she give up herself....who know maybe until she reach 18.....
