What a busy week!!

This whole week I''m been busy ,busy and busy. The chores seem never end.I also have to run around doing some errands, call that person ,call this company, beside cooking and baking. I been baking ,cooking, baking, cooking and at last packing all the cookies that I have made into boxes ready for shipping. So for now I done with cookies baking.Yesterday,I have to go out and it's been snowing early in the morning .
I hate driving in snowing weather,so slushy and slippery. The advisory board keep flashing"Drive at low speed ,the road is icing".Everyone on the highway drive around 30-40 mph in this weather.I just pass 2 car in an accident.Make me more nervous..When car speed next lane to me,the snow splatter and cover my windshield. So I try to stay at slow lane for safety . This is the view while I'm driving on Long Island Expressway or it called I-495 .Usually it's take me 20 minutes to reach my destination but at this weather it took me 1 hour to reach there.Today,we have a lot of black ice when I go out to post office.I was advised when driving in slippery and icing road, there is 'No No' to hit brake to stop, just put gear to neutral and let it slide.

I suggested to hubby that we need to use wood stove for heating in winter because the oil price so ridiculously high right now.We can't afford to just burn our hard earn money away.We just have our 250 gallon oil tank fill up and it's only can last us about a month with 24/7 burning. We even lower the temperature to 62-65 F...not too low,it's can freeze the water pipe and do more damaged. He told me that we have a wood bury stove in garage that belonged to his parents.Well, let use it..When he moved the stove door, both doors fell off due to aging and unused. He bring the door for repair but they said it's a fibre made, there is no way for them to attach the door with it's pins. How to fixed a 20 plus years old stove??..Well,they suggest him to get a new set with lining and all accessories which cost us a bomb!!.So he found the same exactly one we have in garage at eBay..I email back and forth the seller, ask some questions, they told me it's only approved for coal burning, that is not good..We want wood burning ...hmmmm...told hubby he have to get this done ASAP!!.He told me he will look online tomorrow..Well,that hubby of mine is very proscastination in doing stuffs at home.
At last I open my cookies gift from Zuriada here .Mishu been digging in the cookies tin for multicolor candy .Thank you Kak Zue for your wonderful gift.
Last 3 days I been baking cookies until 3 am and get to bed at 5 am..Yesterday,after baking,I took 2 hours to pack my cookies in container and boxes.I used USPS online to print out the label but after paying the postage I realised I have to download the latest Acrobat Reader which my computer doesn't support or I dunno how to install in proper way, maybe my firewall prevent it from install I guess...Long story short,I bring all this boxes to post office 10 minutes before closing today.I should arrange for schedule pick up but I have to postmark my Linen & Things rebate ,that the reason I go there myself..The clerk told me that she can't accept my postage paid summary. It's doesn't have official postage label.Well,I'm in hurry,to reach there before they closed. She told me to come back tomorrow or I can use automatic postal service which accept any payment or go to another branch which open until 7 pm..I guess she in hurry to go home too..I bring all my boxes home and have to go back tomorrow again..I have to make sure I set alarm clock to wake me up in the morning and send my cookies boxes ASAP while it still fresh..oh!! tomorrow it's Saturday...that mean post office open half day!!..

Hi Beachlover, how you doing? Holy smoke! How you took that pic when driving? Icy road too.
Hey, you shocked me when read if skidding, put gear into neutral? That is the 1st time I hear that.
Your car has anti-lock brakes,...what I do and learned from the experts in mags and on TV is when going into a slide is follow the slide and slowly try turn the wheels away...if heading into a ditch, if empty land, okay.
Heard on radio you guys going to get hit real hard this snowstorm today. Its heading North our way now, already snowing like crazy now.
Oh well, snowbound but got the blog to occupy me.
You keep warm, beachlover, and try avoid going out bad weather, take bus, safer. UL.

Beachlover, me too hate driving in this kind of weather and road conditions. I avoid going out all together and will stock up meat and veggies in the fridge. Lucky the weather was good yesterday and went to the post office and mail out all the packages. You keep safe and warm ok.

hahaha!! I took the picture when I just come out from my exit, then I saw an accident.I realise ,I better concentrate driving..It's really nerve wreaking while driving on icing road.I dunno if my van have anti locked, but I know it;s only front wheel drive. My ex boss who are car racing when he was young told me to push my gear in neutral when I'm going to hit the front car.I also brake few time on that day,I feel my van brake doesn't grip and my van keep dancing around left and right..hoooo...I almost piss in my pant...what you said it's true too, turn your wheel and let it slide to the ditch ,better than hitting the front car.Yes,I hear that news too...said tonite we going to get real hit but not as bad as midwest...I still hope to go out tomorrow..Take bus wait forever la...you too keep warm..
