I shopped in Trader Joe's last week at Thanksgiving 's eve and saw something unique on the shelf. So I take a good look, there are 3 different varieties of Thailand famous prepacked sauce with tuna . At first, I thought it's just the paste or sauce but I wonder why there is photo on the packet. It's the photo suggest we cook with Tuna?.Then I look for the price,it's tag at $1.39.Wow!!..that still a good price even though it's doesn't come with Tuna .So,I grab each flavor one pack to try first. Not dare to buy too much, who know ....maybe it's not up to my expectation or lousy!!..This product made in Thailand and specially packed for Trader Joe's.For those who have Trader Joe's nearby, give a try.In fact it's really good..Here is my review.... Today,I start with Green Curry sauce first.I open the pouch and pour out the contain in a bowl.I quickly check the contain, yes!!it's come with good amount of tuna.Beside that I add some string bean and 1/4 cup of water to clean out the pouch sauce.Microwave it for 2-3 minutes.Serve with white rice.

beachlover,
Trader Joe's sounds like a local market store.... Is it an Asian store selling variety type of asian product? Tuna in green curry... YUM!
that green curry looks gorgeous. wah if you come back I am sure you will buy a lot of the ready sauce. lol! shop sop, what the hack, lets shop!!!
Lesly, I went to Trarder Joe's the other day but I didn't see this product. Did they put this at the Asian products? I don't mind having this for lunch once a while. It look yummy.
I love this 3 minutes microwave tuna in green curry. Imagine curry in 3 mins, wow! Such a quick and no fuss meal for busy/lazy day. Loved it! But no Trader Joe's here. Mishu is so brave to even sip the curry kua, wow!
Hi, I did stop by your blog and commented in one of your earlier posts, although at that time I didn't realize it was a much earlier posting. Hehe, anyway, I think your Mishu is admirable. She's such a good eater and you have trained her real well. I can see she really enjoys her food. Great job, Mum.
Joe:

hey, i just found your blog, searching for a pic of tj's green curry tuna. I tried it for the first time tonite, & it was SO YUMMY!!!! Anyway, i like your blog, & will check in again,
-heidi
Trader Joes no longer carries these... does anyone know where I can get them online? TJ never makes it's own stuff, so if the company hasn't gone out of business these should be available somehow.
Id love to know if anyone has found this item somewhere else too, i really miss it!
I am having the same problem. I fell in love with the Thai green curry tuna at trader Joes and I am also dissapointed that it is no longer available. The oher flavor of tuna, I don't remember what it was I also love. Im on a mad search too. Please come back to this site if you find it and I will too.
The previously available tuna packets at TJ's were an important part of my life, due to taste, nutrition, price and ease of prep. I was downtrodden when they disappeared. But TODAY I have found an answer! I live in PDX, Oregon. We have a store here called "Fubon". They sell a non-descript can of Mackerel "in Tom Yum Sauce". It is sold under the DRAGONFLY brand and is imported from Thailand by U.S. Trading Company. It contains no preservatives, and the ingredients are all natural. Ingredients: Mackerel, Tom Yum Sauce (water, lemongrass, galangal, chili, kaffier leaves, chili paste, coconut milk, sugar, lime juice, salt, citric acid). The taste is spot on like the "spicy" packet, not too hot, just some zing. A complete success, it costs just a few dollars, and is 6.5oz. It only has the meat (whole mini-steaks) and sauce, so veggies will be the responsibility of the purchaser. Keep in mind Mackerel oil is extremely healthy, more so than Tuna, and unlike being a top of the food chain fish in danger of overfishing like Tuna (not to mention trace mercury), Mackerel is a more sustainable product. I wanted to share this hopeful news since for lovers of the former TJ product, because it is SO GOOD. I feel lucky :D!
UPDATE: Here is the website of the American distributor Ustov, Inc.

You will notice the DRAGONFLY canned mackerel comes in familar red, green curries, and the Tom Yum vareiety that I tried today. I bet we have the OEM supplier of TJ's tuna packets! :D
