My Birthday Cake,Tiramisu

I make Tiramisu for my Birthday today,oooosppphh,not today since now is almost 2 am.It's was yesterday ,Nov 9 th...I get my inspiration from Chef Gertrude .I told Elliot not to buy me cake since I'm going to make one myself.He wanna go to the city to get me a cake from Chinese bakery.I dunno ,what is the outcome of my cake with my skill cause I never make any Birthday cake before or any regular cake.It's very challenging for me.I make few big mistake .I forget to get the main ingredients for Tiramisu.The drawback is quite bad.I thought half and half milk is an alternative for heavy cream,no wonder after whipping for 30 minutes,the cream still watery not firm puffy.I forget to get heavy cream when I shop for ladyfinger because hubby is waiting in the van,so must hurry up.Beside that,I went to liquor store too late after shop in Linen & Things,closed at 8 pm,I thought liquor store close at 9 pm.So I substitute rum for tequila which I found in the house.The worst part is the cake is too sweet.I read the wrong measurement....Anyway,I proceed with my Tiramisu.I also google from cookingforengineers to get the idea how to make Tiramisu step by step.Look at what I make :(

OMG!! some of the lady finger is soaking wet , cheese mixture leaking out,left and right and crumple soon!!.The strawberry is sinking ....help!! Titanic is sinking!!.A very big failure and disaster!!.Luckily it's my own Birthday ,if I make for other person,I will feel so guilty and ashamed.What a waste of $$$ ,time and energy!!.Anyway,hubby and Mishu sing Birthday song to me infront of this leading Tiramisu.

The cake is very mushy and very wet,so I fill in a wine glass for serving. Hope it's look better and appetizing.
I just finish decorate Tiramisu with Strawberry,and wonder how to removed the pan.I have no idea the pan I used have the expend release.This is the bakeware from Ikea's which I found out it's 2 in 1 function bakeware.Very functional.
I prepared overnight and is going into fridge. What a big setback!!
oh!! I get both card from hubby and Mishu..Hubby love to get card for Birthday which I find not practical,but what to do,that American Style.
I told hubby this year I choose my own present.I'm still thinking what brand should I get for my digital camera...Canon ,Panasonic or Nikon??.hmmmm...my present one is Canon Power Shot Elph S100 and it's 7 year old already.I told hubby I'm going to order online and now still keep checking other brand and model.

We went out to celebrate my Birthday at Thai's restaurant nearby.Hubby suggest outbacksteakhouse but I wanna to try Asian cuisine. Actually,I want to go to city ,eat in Chinese restaurant in Flushing but been raining whole day,freezing cold .I'm craving for ginger and scallion crab or lobster ,steam black fish,Peking pork chop and stir fried" tau miu"(mini bean sprout) but too bad,the weather is beyond my control,so we have to settle for Thai's food.Overall the food in Thai's restaurant is not bad.Hubby" google" and found one rated by Zagat.I have an unforgettable memories Birthday this year!! I make my own disaster Tiramisu!!..

Beachlover, you need whipping cream for this cake. If not it will not hold the cake :) :) Visually the cake look pretty good to me. Try to make this again and make sure you get some whipping cream :) :)

Wah, you manyak "keng"... Make tiramisu somemore... I sekali pandang kek tiramisu sudah surrender... Takut sangat nak buat... For me, mesti 100% failed..

yalah,pandai pandai nak buat Tiramisu but at last *sob sob*.Actually it's quit easy ,must have right ingredients,then it's come out good.Do you know Tiramisu don't have to bake?.Right,no bake,just need right measurement.

Happy Belated Birthday Beachlover,
Hope you had a good birthday with your Darling and Princess.

I bet you still liked the cake as you made it. Still very daring attempt for a great event like your birthday. I remember one time I over whip the mascarpone and I had to go get another container to re-whip. Luckily tat was a test run before friend's birthday. Don't worry, you will get it right the next time.

p/s I made moist chocolate cake 3 times in a week because the 1st 2 attempts failed... Hubby so bengang with me.. hahaha
