Gai Nam Pla Sen Mee (Chicken Fish Sauce Vermicelli)

Thai food is now one of the hottest new cuisines to hit North America, so why not try cooking up some of the dishes at home .It's not much different from Malaysia cuisine. If you know how to eat and cook Malaysia food,so there you go.American love Thai's food compare with other Southeast Asia food.Well, according to a poll in a recent men's fitness magazine, Thai food was voted the sexiest new cuisine. With its sensual array of flavors and spices, Thai makes a hot party food, and is the perfect choice for hosting an weekend or Birthday party for your family and friends. Chicken with fish sauce vermicelli. The key of cooking Thai's food are fish sauce, lime, kaffir leave and cilantro. But here is my own recipe:Instead of using broad rice noodle I prefer thin rice noodle .

Ingredients:
200gm vermicelli
100 gm boneless breast chicken(2 pieces)
2 stalk scallion(cut)
50-80 gm mung bean sprout(tailed)
1 large egg(scramble)
2 tbsp fish sauce (nam pla)
1 fresh lime
2 tbsp oil
4 cloves garlic(minced)
1 tsp chicken flavor powder
5-8 pc Thai's chili cut small on side soak in fish sauce
1 stalk cilantro

Method:
Soaked vermicelle in warm water for 15-20 minutes and drained.Set aside.Heat wok with some oil to scramble eggs.Removed scramble egg ,set aside.Pour some oil ,then add garlic fried until fragnant.Add in chicken, stir fried for 3-5 minutes before add vermicelli .Keep stirring the noodle if you're using No non- stick wok. Then add in fish sauce, chicken powder, scallion, eggs and bean sprout.Do not over cook bean sprout.I like it crispy and crunchy.Squeesh in fresh lime into vermicelli. Then serve it warm. You can add in cilantro or fried shallot for garnishing.I used some cut Thai's chili on the side since I share this dish with Mishu. If not I will just add in together with other ingredients.
This dish is very simple and easy to cook. You can use shrimp or pork ,up to your preference.Usually in Thai's restaurant they sell a plate of this noodles for $8.00 plus, plus.I been to Sripraphai restaurant few times,in Queens .Years ago, this restaurant look like "kopitiam" with very old furniture and small seating area. But the food is great.I remember the restaurant are very small, then suddenly after few years this restaurant take over their neighbour stores and renovated with more seating. The last time I was there with my friends who love Thai's foods. My friends have to make reservation few hours ahead of time. This place was so packed especially on weekend.Sometime,we have to wait for 1 hours before we can get the table. The great things in this place beside moderate price, great food are the contemporary atmosphere. As for the service,we can't expect much in this place since it's always full. They even have garden with waterfall in the party section. If you happen to come to NYC,paid a visit there, price can considerate moderate compare with other Thai's restaurant in Manhattan.

this is great dish....the saltiness comes from the fish sauce....i usually add a wee bit of oyster sauce to give a heavy flavour.
