Char Siew Soh ( Roasted Pork Pillow Pastry)

We all love this char siew soh pastry. One of Elliot favourite Dim-Sum delicacies.

Ready to eat Char Siew Soh.Look good...ahhhh.... golden brown......hmmmm..
I make my homemade roast-pork-char-siew and use it for bun and pastry filling.Just add some green peas, onion, oyster sauce ,soy sauce, sugar, corn starch and pepper.
Pillow Pastry waiting for preheat oven.I only have onion flavor Paratha.
Snippets In My Kitchen creative idea using Paratha as pastry wrapper.I love it.I have 2 packets of Paratha sitting in my freezer for months ,now all gone after making Char Siew Soh .Paratha is also know as Roti Canai. Some Malaysian Restaurant in US use frozen Paratha to serve.Mostly Paratha in US manufacture from Malaysia.Buatan Malaysia.

Elliot love Char Siew Soh .When we were dating,I always buy him Char Siew Soh when he visit me in Brooklyn. He like Char Siew Soh from this particular Chinese Dim-Sum restaurant. This Chinese restaurant in Avenue U have the best Char Siew Soh,but usually sold off before 2 pm.So now, when I'm going to city or Chinatown,he will request me to buy him Char Siew Soh but unfortunately Char Siew Soh is consider as Dim-Sum delicacies.Dim-Sum restaurant usually stop serving their delicacies before 3 pm.So,I never have the chance to buy him Char Siew Soh,since I always leave here after the noon.I'm hardly a early riser.
Actually,I'm been thinking ,using pastry dough which I make Pig In Blanket for Char Siew Soh but since Chef Gert suggest Paratha, why not?.I prefer to used Paratha instead because it's much authentic and easy to make the pillow.Thank you ,Chef Gert for your wonderful idea.

this is my 2 batch of baking, after the 1 st look black and messy. The 1st batch gravy leaked out and over baked. So I have to frezze the filling for 30 min b4 wrap again and bake for only 10 min.I wonder how you cut Paratha to 3 pc?.I can only cut to 2,it's onion flavor smaller size than regular Paratha?.

Catcat:
