No Knead Bread

I can see some oatmeal .I mixed the oatmeal allover inside out the dough.

Take a closer look.The texture is not so rough.It's really look like a regular bread but the crust is really hard:(

I cut it while it still warm.The crust is quite hard but inside is soft and yummy!!




Just took out from the oven.Look pretty good,right??.I'm so proud of myself..hahaha!!As Chef Gertrude said anybody can make this bread,so easy and simple. Yes,she is 100% right!!

My new hot iron cast pot with cover.I saw few cool and heavy iron cast pot with red and green color but it's quite expensive.I have a bunch of new pots ,pans,skillet and wok still in box.My whole kitchen wall hang full of pots and pans.Hope I can use this new pot for other cooking beside "No Knead Bread".


I was inspired again by SnippetsOfMyLife by her No Knead Bread recipe.I shop at Walmart and saw a set of 3 iron cast pot with cover.They come with 3 different sizes.It's only $19.95 for 3 pieces with cover.Good deal!!
Again, this is my first time making a real bread by scratch.I'm into challenge of any baking these day.I let the dough raise for 24 hours on the counter top following the recipe.I add some Oatmeal into it.I guess I try to make wholewheat meal bread.
Elliot keep asking me how is the bread doing in the evening.I told him the bread is already cook but need 1 hour to cool down .He can't wait for the bread to cool down .He said he like soft and warm bread,so I cut a piece for him to spread with butter.I ask his opinion about this bread.He said from scale 1 to 10 point..he give 5 to me...huh!! only 5 point??.He said the crust is quite hard,although the inside is soft enough.I have no idea that this No Knead Bread crust supposed to be hard or my techniques of baking this bread failed.I have to seek some advise from the expert.Luckily ,the oatmeal is really blend well into the dough. He said why I mixed Oatmeal into it the bread,since it's my first time baking bread??.Well,I'm trying to make this bread fancy instead of just plain.
I took a small piece of this bread,not bad..wow!!..turn out quite fine.All the time,while I'm making cookies,cake or bread,Mishu will took her stool and stand next to me.So next time,I will let Mishu make " No Knead Bread"!!

You go girl...bravo. You made the no knead bread. Is so easy isn't it. Anyway, yours look really good. The crust is suppose to be hard and crusty because of the amount of liquid and also we steam bake them the first stage of baking. Don't Elliot like crusty bread like all Americans ? So, what is next? Wholewheat bread?

Gert...thanks for your support!hehehe...I told Elliot this bread is rustic loaf = cowboy..ok..he said he gave me another 1/2point.yeah,he eat hard crust bread when we dine at restaurant.Maybe he reserve his opinion about me.Actually i used wholemeal yeast 4 this bread.
