Kitchen Metal Backsplash

At the back of the stoves and oven.

Also at the back of stoves and oven.I choose this design, what do you think?.There is other design here
This is the 3 rd time,we have to reorder this tin tile backsplash.Hubby never done this before so he have no idea how much he need the tin.Multiple design for other sample to view.
After hubby finished the main panel at the back of stove,I want he to do the same at the sink area too.He agree since he feel so proud of his own work.

Hubby carefully measure the cutting and the metal is really sharp. That the reason he have to wear leather glove.
The last piece left over,so he fit it on top of the window. Not bad looking, right? .We stop right here, don't want the kitchen to look too industrial.

This is how half of my kitchen wall look right now.At last hubby done with it after months of DIY.He not an expert but quite a handy man.Every single time for him to do a project,he need to buy need tools. So this time he bought a tin scissor at harborfreight but he realized the snipe is too short. He go to buy another pair of scissor but still not good.So he have to used a 30 years old rusty and old scissor found in garage. He just need to take his own sweet time and space to do it right. He is so proud of himself looking at the final result. He keep telling people that face lift is his idea not mine.Who care?.I don't mind ,he take credit for this since he is the one doing the fix up but actually,I saw this idea in hgtv sometimes ago.But at that time,we search in Home Depot and they told us that it must be special order from the supplier with minimal order and on top of that they don't have tin or metal material,it's just PVC.But we prefer metal material cause it will last longer with the heat and oil abuse on daily basic especially surrounding cooking area. So,we keep searching at other small individual store. At last we found tin made material at Paneling store in our area.

My former kitchen design was with flowery wall paper.Actually, we bought this house from my mother in law.I guess at 70's ,everybody like flowery wallpaper design, but not me.When I cleaned up my kitchen 2 years ago,I scrapped all the wall papers off the wall and repaint my kitchen again.Too bad ,we don't have extra money to renovate our 40 years old home.I saw in HGTV,how expensive to renovate a kitchen with granite counter top!!.My dream is to have an island and granite counter top.So I keep enter this and that home sweepstakes design contest, home depot contest and better home and garden contest too.Talking about sweepstakes contest,I never won any contest but I keep an eye on few sweepstakes at bhg .
As for this tin tile design, hubby ask me to choose the design.I prefer something not too complicated and too many little fine flower or lines. It's much easier for clean up.But if I choose something simple,it's will look too plain.
Now we realised our big mistake,we should choose finished with chrome material instead of unfinished material.Of course,Chrome material is 40 % more pricey than unfinished. Some edge especially at sink area are rusty.Elliot going to homedepot tomorrow to get rust remover and sealer. He said he can remove the rusty spot with Vaseline and then spray with paint sealer again .If not all his hard work gone to the drain. This teach us a lesson,do our homework first and buy a premium price material instead of the lower price. To save of the unnecessary work and money!!. Higher price product must have good reason why it's more expensive. That the reason why some people choose branded product.
